Filkom Goes to Trans7 & Ragunan: Building Field Experience and Collaborative Spirit among Students

On Tuesday, July 22, 2025, the Faculty of Computer Science conducted an industrial visit to two different locations: the national television station Trans7 and the Ragunan Zoo. This activity aims to enrich students' insights related to the industrial world, media, technology, as well as environmental and conservation issues.At Trans7, students had the exclusive opportunity to see firsthand the production process of television shows, broadcasting systems, and the application of information technology in the media world. The participants also interacted with the professional team from Trans7 who shared their experiences and career tips in the digital broadcasting industry.

Next, the visit continued to the Ragunan Zoo, where students were invited to understand the importance of environmental preservation and the role of technology in supporting wildlife conservation management. This activity served as an enjoyable contextual learning medium, while also fostering social empathy and responsibility towards the environment.The visit was warmly welcomed by both students and accompanying lecturers. In addition to broadening their horizons, such field experiences are expected to strengthen the connection between classroom theory and real-world practice in the workplace and community.
