On Thursday (July 10th), students from the Faculty of Computer Science at Djuanda University had the opportunity to attend a public lecture on the application of Information Technology. Eva Maulina Aritonang, S.Kom., M.Kom., as a resource person for the Directorate General of Customs and Excise, presented a public lecture on microservices architecture, three-tier architecture, and capacity building to face current and future IT challenges.
This event aimed to provide a concrete overview of how government agencies utilize technology as a primary foundation for improving efficiency, transparency, and integration of public services. Modern approaches such as microservices have been widely adopted by several marketplaces to support scalable and agile systems, while three-tier architecture was introduced as a method for developing sustainable and easily managed systems.
In his remarks, the Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science, Dr. Ir. Himmatul Miftah, M.Si., MPM, emphasized the importance of this event in supporting the achievement of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). "Public lectures with speakers from direct practice like this not only enrich students' insights but also contribute to improving the quality of learning and the relevance of the curriculum to industry needs."
Furthermore, emphasis is placed on the importance of individual capacity development, both in technical skills and soft skills such as collaboration, communication, and self-discovery. This is key to preparing IT talent ready to compete and contribute in the era of digital transformation.
