The Computer Science Study Program, Faculty of Computer Science, Djuanda University, held the "Tips for Success in Studying" (ILKOM) event as part of the Pre-Ta'aruf (Introduction) program for New Students for the 2026/2027 Academic Year. This event aimed to provide new students with an initial understanding of the world of studying computer science, career prospects for graduates, and strategies for success in higher education.
The material presented included an introduction to the field of computer science, career opportunities in the digital era, common challenges faced by students, and eight tips for success during college: having clear goals, mastering programming fundamentals, good time management, being active in class, building a portfolio early, participating in organizations and competitions, gaining more certifications, and building a professional personal brand.
Through this activity, new students are expected to prepare themselves academically and non-academically, develop a strong motivation to learn, and understand the strategic steps to becoming competent, innovative Computer Science graduates who are ready to face the challenges of the workplace and digital entrepreneurship.
The Computer Science Professional Cluster Socialization event was held by the Faculty of Computer Science, Djuanda University, as part of a series of orientation sessions for new students. The event began with remarks from the Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science, Dr. Ir. H. Himmatul Miftah, M.Si., who emphasized the importance of student preparedness in facing the challenges of higher education and the development of digital technology. The Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs of the Faculty of Computer Science stated that new students are expected to take advantage of the various learning, organizational, and competency development opportunities provided by the faculty to prepare them for the challenges of the future workforce. Furthermore, in the session "Tips for Success in Studying at ILKOM," Aisah Rini Susanti, S.T., M.Kom., presented material on strategies for successful study, competency development, portfolio building, and career preparation in Computer Science. The event then continued with a professional socialization session by Abdullah, S.E., accompanied by faculty leaders, including the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science, to demonstrate support for the new students' academic and professional development.
Through this Computer Science Professional Cluster Socialization activity, it is hoped that new students will gain a clearer picture of the world of college, career opportunities, and the competencies needed to develop during their studies in the Computer Science Study Program. With a passion for learning, discipline, and a willingness to continuously develop themselves, students are expected to become a superior, innovative generation, ready to face the challenges of the digital transformation era.
